I am looking into a iMac. As in I'm going to get one.

iMac no question. it's the best computer ever!
I just got the iMac 24" and I LOVE it!!! It is wonderful. I vote for that one for sure. But, you should ask the sales associate too :)
I have a mac mini-but I am sure the sales associates know best, eh! Nice work by the way-you rock!
We have the iMac -- I think ours is 20" but our brother in law has a 24 inch screen. Huge, which I think would be good if you're doing alot of picture stuff (uh, duh for you, I suppose). We LOVE the iMac. So small, and SO fast to load all the programs and such. We love that there is no tower whatsoever.

You should take some of your photos (a mix of color and b/w) to the Apple store and view them on the imacs and on the 30" screen. The imacs have glossy screens which you may or may not like. The mini might be underpowered and the pro might be overkill. You could also consider getting a pro laptop then hooking it up to an external monitor. Sorry for confusing the matter.
Sorry I'm no help on this, but I wanted to say the pics below look awesome as usual and yes, I AM embarassed by Jord's facebook profile. What a nerd. My first comment was, "My relatives will look at this!" Ha!

I re-measured my display. It's a 24". Definitely not the mac mini. Just make sure whatever you get has an apple on it... :)
DO NOT GET THE MAC MINI--I am a mac expert--DON'T DO IT. I have the tower and 30'' screen. The screen went out on me after just a couple of years--the tower is good though. Go with the 24''
